Audi to launch R8 supercar in India by year end
Who told you that India is solely a small-car market? Audi, the German manufacturer with a difference, is not planning to stop with its sedans and SUVs in India. With already seven dealerships setup in the Nano-country, Audi has plans to expand that network further.

Within a few months, those dealerships, among the A8, Q7 SUV and other models will sell the R8 supercar. Sister company Lamborghini has also been operating successfully in India for sometime now, and Ferrari too, has announced its interest in trading in the country.

But the new LM 23 means more track racing than looks. The company’s engineers are currently trying a 150hp 1.0l unit from a Honda CBR1000 with a 6 speed sequential gearbox. They could fit also a turbocharged Subaru boxer engine to the new LM23. With a special body kit, the standard 4WD setup is converted into a 2WD gearbox delivering power to the rear wheels. A Dino will never happen, but how about a Ferrari flat-six engine? According to AutoTelegraaf that block in on the agenda. According to Roberto Fedeli, a company spokesman, a V6 Turbo engine in a part of plans. The new engine will meet the future environmental requirements but will keep the current Ferrari’s performance.

“A turbo engine is one of the developments of the “Research & Design” department,” he said. “It will be smaller in size and capacity than the current V8 and V12 engines.”

The new BMW 7 Series is entering the market with a V8 and a straight-six gasoline engine both featuring Twin Turbo technology and direct fuel injection (High Precision Injection) as well as the first representative of a new generation of six-cylinder diesel engines.
MG TF LE500 pricing announced car news and reviews
MG announced prices for the TF LE500: 16,399 pounds (20,700 euros). Sales will begin in September. The price of the two-seater sports car will include a body-colored hardtop, air conditioning and parking sensors.

AutoBild caught the future Maserati GT-C (Gran Turismo Convertible) testing in Germany. Powered by a V8 engine the future GT-C will join the Gran Turismo line-up starting 2009 (next to the GT and the GT S).
Built on the same platform as the Gran Turismo Coupe, it will be a folding soft top convertible, and not a hardtop one as some rumors suggested.

Under the hood there will be the same 4,2 liter V8 engine as in the coupe version that will deliver 405 hp at 7,100 rpm and a maximum torque of 460 Nm at 4,750 rpm.
